My One Year Reflection

Dear LitWorld Friend,

As we enter the final stretch of December and the holiday season draws to a close, this is a natural time to look back in order to look forward.

This year has been one of transformation and growth, as we have dedicated ourselves to investing fully in local and international programs. With our innovation projects, a revised curriculum, and regional expansion, we have laid the groundwork for the future of LitWorld.

Our commitment to empowering young people and their communities has never been stronger.

As I reflect on my first year as the Executive Director of LitWorld, I am honored by the opportunity to continue the incredible work of our founder and support our partners worldwide in our mission to uplift and strengthen children and communities through the power of storytelling.

I'm inspired by the children whose voices are finally being heard and the stories that are being told.

Just like Princess from the Philippines, who found her voice in LitClub and said, "I'm at my happiest here because I know that I have a voice. Everyone can hear me and listen to my story."

I'm thankful for the community partners who have worked tirelessly to help their communities and families thrive. LitWorld has been able to provide them with the support and impact they need to make a difference.

Like Johanna Gómez from Museo Rayo in Colombia, who said, "When I was little, my school library was always closed and dark. Books were kept in locked furniture and never lent to children because we could ruin them…I have been working hard for 10 years to get books into the hands of children; I believe in the power of stories and the great value they have in transforming lives. [Libraries are] magical places where literature comes to life and reaches the hands of boys and girls! I want to say thank you to LitWorld for making this possible." I am excited and honored to be able to meet Johanna and see this beautiful work unfold in person this upcoming February!

I am deeply grateful for our dedicated supporters, whose generous contributions enable us to continue our work. Our shared vision and collective strength help us to achieve our mission and create a better tomorrow for thousands of children across the globe.

Sitting in this moment of reflection, I feel more excited than ever about what the future holds for LitWorld. We're ready to continue sowing the seeds of literacy, empowerment, and joy for a whole new generation of LitKids.

A huge THANK YOU to the many of you who have already donated!

If you have not yet donated and are able, will you join us in bringing the joy and power of literacy to young people and their communities around the world?

With gratitude,

Caitlin M. Cassaro
